Happy weekend everyone! Throughout my life I’ve never really had a hobby per se…sure I love to workout, go shopping, try new foodie restaurants, eat massive amounts of fro-yo…oops how’d that last one sneak in there?! But none of those entirely constituted for me as being a hobby…well the last one should because this girl and her sister can grow an extra stomach when frozen yogurt is involved. Anyway, point I’m trying to get at is I’ve found a new hobby that I just started a couple days ago and I am in love! And I kinda feel it’s becoming a new life for me…I can’t help but watch or read something and think “ooo this should go on the blog!” or my husband will say something insightful or cute and I’ll think “I must blog about that!” It’s pretty cool how quickly I’ve fallen in love already in this hobby and I can’t wait to continue this journey 🙂
So now let’s get to the good stuff…food! I was pretty floored last night after receiving amazing feedback of my blog through my family and wonderful blend (blog friend) Courtney at Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life. So what does one do when they’re happy, it’s Friday, and to celebrate my new blogging endeavor?! We pop some bubbly 😉
And with my champy I always start to get a lil snacky…especially since I had just got home from work and was tired = hungry girl! Our latest snack obsession is Tostitos Multigrain Scoops with salsa and TJ’s hummus quartet…
And with it being Friday we were being lazy pants and didn’t feel like putting that much effort into cooking an elaborate dinner so I went with my old standby – panini!! I absolutely love panini’s and it’s really the only way I’ll eat a sandwich. I really don’t like cold sandwiches at.all…but give me a warm, cheesy, gooey sandwich and you got here one happy girl 🙂
So that’s what I did. Although unfortunately my beloved panini maker is on the fritz (that should just go to show you how much I used the darn thing!), so now I have to cook my sandwiches on the stove like a grilled cheese…it actually works pretty well!
Here’s the final product, panini with Oroweat Sandwich Thins (awesome find from Courtney and Julie from PB Fingers) Boar’s Head Salsalito Turkey, Laughing Cow Cheese wedge, and a slice of onion, with some veg, hummus, and ketchup on the side…side note – I’m a ketchup lover and will pretty much dip anything in it!
And that there on the right is my hubby’s manly meal…two TJ’s Smoked Apple Chardonnay Sausages with peppers and onions and whole grain bread slathered with mustard, and a diet coke with Jack Daniels (my dad gets the credit for hooking my hubby on to that drink)…another side note – so cute, hubby said he squiggled the mustard on there like that so it looked “pretty” for the blog…awwww 🙂
And like I said before, I never end my night without something sweet…a Lindt Lindor White Chocolate Truffle…so good!
And for a lil panini action…
Boy have I been a busy bee this morning…our house is on the market and I had to do some serious cleaning…pick up a peanut butter puffin crumb here or there…a champy glass…you know how it goes with the Friday night shenanigans… 😉 Anyway, once that was done, I started last night’s post and before I knew I had to leave mid-editing to go to my 8:15 spin class. Yes that’s early for a Saturday morning, but I absolutely love the instructor who teaches at that time. Awesome music, awesome energy, and all around an awesome sweat endorphin session. But before I left I had my coffee and a banana for a pre-workout snack!
Vanilla Caramel Creamer is the best! And see in the background…penguin canisters! I told ya I wasn’t kidding about our penguin obsession 😉
And this is super cute…when I sat down at my desk this morning to blog my hubby left me a spread in his Men’s Journal magazine (July edition) to look at…it’s an article about cameras and he knows I have an interest now in that since I’m blogging and taking lots of pictures…cute huh?! He’s becoming quite the blogging aficionado 😉
Alrighty folks, this sweaty girl has gotta get showered and ready for the day! Super excited about my plans too…first, lunch with my mom and sister at Fresh Choice, it’s like the healthier more upscale version of Sizzler. And then a special treat at a new to town self serve frozen yogurt place, Nubi Yogurt!! I read on Yahoo that’s it’s one of the top rated self serve yogurt spots around! This makes for a very happy, sweet tooth lovin’ girl. And then to get our nails done and get ready for a night on town to The Cask, an awesome wine bar with a Champagne tasting I can’t wait to try!
Catch ya later and hope you all have a wonderful day…and I’ll be back with some awesome pics of our yogurt and champy extravaganza 😉
Tell me: are you a champagne drinker like me? I know some people hate the stuff…but I love it! Especially if it’s sweet, like a good Spumante…and I’m quite the Reisling lover too for it’s sweet notes 🙂
