Family Fulfillment

Posted on Updated on

Hello everyone!  It’s Monday, back to work and the ole daily grind.  However, I have to admit I enjoy my daily grind of getting back into the swing of things with work, exercise, and my meals…but I find what makes it even easier going into a Monday for me, is having a weekend that leaves you feeling fulfilled, refreshed, and energized.  And that’s exactly what my weekend did for me.  It was fulfilled by spending time with family…spending it with those I love and enjoying each others company.  So with that, my Saturday started off with a nice Spin class full of energizing music and students, my favorite way to start the weekend.  And since a good part of the day my hubby had to work, I got to spend girl time with my sister and mom, and what better way to do that is to get lunch, shop, and for the finale, cap it off with fro yo!

But first, my outfit for the day (Fashion Page has more deets about it)…and you can see a lil bit of our cute house too 😉

Ok, now onto the good stuff, food!!  We headed to Fresh Choice (again), but seriously, this restaurant could never get old to us…especially to self proclaimed veggie lovers as ourselves 😉  That delicious salad contains butter lettuce, beets, carrots, peas, bell peppers, croutons (and crumbs!! I know I’m a dork, but it’s my fav, so much so that I’ve been to known to dig deep in any kind of chip/crouton/what have you bag to get to the infamous crumbs!  Right hubby??!!)

And fro yo round 1 was had, but this blogger here was a bad blogger and didn’t snap a pic, but I assure you it was deeeelicious!!

Fro yo round 2!!

And yes, that would be the inside of our car…why do frozen yogurt places insist on putting the AC on??!!  I’m sorry but I would really like to avoid freezing my bum off while eating ice cold fro yo…so we happily ate our respective yogurts in our warm toasty car, thankyouverymuch!  And yes, that would be the glorious Peanut Butter Puffins that I’m so insanely addicted to…I even got my sis in on the addiction 😉  Trust me, it was delicious and we were thisclose to telling the manager that Puffins should be an automatic yogurt topping.  I’m kidding, we really wouldn’t do that…well maybe 😉

Once our bellies were sufficiently full, we were energizer bunnies ready to tackle some shopping!  First on the list was to find myself a full length mirror so I could avoid taking fashion shots of myself in the office…in theory it was a great idea and it worked, but I’d really like to not see the day where my boss catches me taking pictures of myself.  Let’s just say it’d be kind of awkward, embarrassing, and he may think he hired a lunatic who loves to see pictures of herself…I think that conversation would bode real well.  I mean, who doesn’t like to do that?! 😉

On that note, we were off to the mecca of all mecca stores that carries any and everything home related…Bed Bath And Beyond!!

I’m happy to say I found myself a full length mirror, and some other goodies that made it’s way into my cart 😉

I’ve always wanted wicker baskets and I think it’s such a cute way to organize a mish mosh of things that you can’t find a home for…I got the idea from my mom too, thanks mom!!  The black box (hubby take note ;)) is a catch all for our mail…I hate unorganized mail and envelopes flying all over the place.  And the froggies…aren’t they the cutest?!  They’re bag clips, and yes I could very well use paper clips to clip our chip bags, but c’mon, how can you pass those up when they’re froggie faces?!  I think it $3.50 well spent 🙂

After that it was off to the mall to get some necessary items…and I was getting a little bored in the women’s lingere department…hi!

Oh!  And this is hubby’s new t-shirt…fo sho 😉

Hehe, I think he could rock that shirt, don’t cha think 😉

Once we were done and hubby was off work, it was time to have some fun and enjoy our Saturday evening…all of which included the ever hilarious movie The Hangover, champy, and to cap it all off, delicious food from North Beach Pizza!  You’d think we got pizza, but no, this place has awesome sandwiches, salads, desserts, and of course pizza too 😉  My sister and I got delicious chicken salads, while the hubby got a glorious Chicken Parmesan sandwich.  It was epic…so epic we had to snap a pic of its cheesiness in all it’s glory…AHHHHH (cue the angels singing :))

Ooooo, get in there a lil closer….

…Annnnnd it broke… 😦

True epicness I’d say 🙂

Sunday was then spent with more family fun.  It first started with an easy day at the gym (60 min. walk on the treadmill while gabbing with a gym friend and catching up on my latest issue of Glamour), and then off to the parentals for some bbq action 🙂

(A recycled photo from last year, but you get the idea…and hubby wants you to get the idea that he’s the grill master 😉)

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend spent with family filled with laughter and fun…in my book, a perfect weekend of family fulfillment 🙂

What fulfillment do you like to get on the weekends?  Are there certain things that help you ease into Mondays and the work week?

P.S. Fitness and Fashion pages updated!  And I got to put my new full length mirror into action too 😉

I love productive weekends and also ones that include dinner with friends, some pool time, and shopping 😉
