Cheers!…to good food and the weekend

Posted on

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday to you all.  I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  I’m about to head out the door to take a Spinning class and get my sweat, so I just wanted to pop in real quick and give you all my eats for yesterday 🙂

I felt like something cool and refreshing for lunch, and when that happens a good ole yogurt bowl easily fulfills that craving…

1 cup Fage greek yogurt, handful Peanut Butter Puffins, strawberries. Side salad of zucchini and red bell pepper

Once home from work, I was a bit snacky (like always!), and some classic kettle chips sounded perfect…

These babies were reduced fat and I swear, you can’t even tell, just as good as the real deal 😉

For dinner, we each felt like doing our own thing so hubby made turkey burgers while I went with another classic standby…avocado and turkey sandwich with a laughing cow wedge cheese and side salad.  But first, some action shots of our food…

Hubby’s turkey burgers grillin’ away…and look at that fiery smoke!!

…Veggie goodness sauteing to perfection

…and my sandwich grilling to a warm, crispy, creamy perfection

Cheers!!…to good food and the weekend…Hubby and I like to cheers with our food right before our first bites 😉

…A look inside the goodness

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!  Hubby is off to a lacrosse tournament and I’m off to get a workout in, and then have some quality girl time with my mom and sister 🙂

Questions: Do you and your S.O. have any quirks you like to do together? (i.e. Hubby and I cheers-ing with our food).  Do you like to get in a sweaty early morning workout on the weekends?

I love those Trad Joe’s reduced guilt chips I whopping those babies out at parties all the time and theynalways get eaten right up! Have you had the Trader Joe’s white bean and basil hummus? Awesome stuff 🙂

We definitely ‘cheers’ before eating… Or if it’s the first drink of the night… Same when we have friends over. I think it’s just a wonderful thing to do… Celebrating love and friendship over good food and conversation.

A pretty quirky thing we do is we bring a frisbee with us everywhere on days we have off together. We love to play frisbee and usually bring along spiked vitamin water. Weird but we love doing that together.

    Cheers!

OMG yes I have tried that hummus! To.Die.For. Now you got my craving going for them, must pick them up on my next TJ’s trip!

Yes love serving the chips at parties! I’ve even fooled my dad and the hubby into eating those chips and they never could tell they were reduced fat, they gobbled them right up! Cheers to that 😉

Awww I love your quirky activity! That’s too cute and activities outside together are always the best…even better with spiked vitamin water, love that! 😉

Early morning sweat – always! That way, I have the rest of the day to roll with whatever comes up and don’t have to plan around my workout. Love that you cheers your food – too cute!

Yes! I feel the same in that I love being able to get it out of the way first thing in the morning, then the rest of the day you can be spontaneous and just go with the flow 🙂

Getting my workout in early just sets my mood for the rest of the day! Love to get it in and done with! My husband and I have little quirky things we do too:) Your girls day sounds like so much fun! We’re hanging out today… Doing some shopping and grilling out later. Love the weekends!

Just found your blog 🙂 You’ve go some pretty good meal ideas around here!

My boyfriend Will & I like to cry like babies around each other whenever the other one has to leave. I guess you can call that a quirk (or just call it really, really weird…) 😉

    Have a good weekend!
