Variety is the “All Spice” in Life

Posted on Updated on

Hi everyone and happy Thursday! So excited we’re inching closer and closer to the weekend…I feel like this week flew by but I think part of it had to do with a special night out last night with a certain special someone πŸ˜‰

Me and Shanna…and the baby bump!! πŸ™‚

Not only is Shanna gorgeous and the most cutest pregnant lady ever, but she is so very sweet…she even gave me a lil goodie bag that was so very sweet of her…

Spiced Pumpkin Candle and Shanna’s Fluffy Pumpkin Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

And I have the candle keeping my friend company…

You have all got to jump over to her blog and check out her post (link above) for these cookies…right when I opened the bag I immediately took a bite and they were absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the other half this morning with a nice cup of coffee and Todd enjoyed the other…he was in pumpkin heaven too…thank you Shanna! ❀

So last night we met up for dinner at All Spice, a contemporary Indian restaurant that we both had never been to before. This was my first time dining at an Indian restaurant and let me tell you, it was the best first time experience ever. The food was absolutely delicious and if all Indian food is like this, then I am definitely a convert. We loved the food so very much and already we can’t wait to go again…maybe next time the hubbies can join us πŸ˜‰

First we started with an Amuse Bouche, compliments of the chef. I forget what it was called, but it was like a tomato flavor type soup…whatever it was it was delicious and instead of using that tiny spoon we could have easily gulped it down!

We wanted to be able to try many different dishes and flavors so we decided to share 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, a perfect idea and the ones we chose we amazing.

First up, the Ode to My Wife – Roasted red and golden beets served with lollo rosso lettuce and fresh dill goat cheese ice cream

And the Indian Bread Fritter “Ma Mere” – Stuffed with mushrooms, potatoes and ciligini served over stewed chickpeas

Then for our entrees we shared the Hara Kebab – Spinach dumplings served with clove and nutmeg-brown butter and aged parmesan

And the Tamarind Eggplant Dosa – Crisp rice and lentil crepe with smoky eggplant, peanuts and goat cheese, roasted garlic tomato chutney

We joked that it looked like an Indian Burrito…it was ginormous!!

All paired with some Roti…loved this stuff!

We made sure to not overfill our bellies with delicious Indian food since we had big plans to top off our evening with, what else than, fro yo!

Shanna’s on the left and mine on the right

Mine had French Vanilla frozen yogurt, cookie dough pieces, animal cracker(!!), oreo pieces, peanut M&M’s, mini M&M’s, and chocolate covered raisins. And the best part, Shanna’s brilliant idea of topping it off with Marshmallow Fluff syrup and caramel syrup, yum! πŸ™‚

We had an absolutely blast and like last time, we could have easily talked for many more hours…to continue the fun we already have big plans for our next date to involve pedicures (since we both absolutely love foot massages) and of course more fro yo πŸ˜‰

Alrighty folks I better jet, I’m behind on work since I had a dentist appointment this morning, ick…thankfully no cavities, whoo hoo! See you back here tomorrow and hope you all have a great day πŸ™‚

What’s your favorite type of cuisine? I really really love Italian!
Is there a certain cuisine you’ve never tried before?
I want to try Thai and Korean
Have you ever met a blogger in person before? If so, who?!

You’re my kinda gal – anything good in life ends with fro yo!! πŸ™‚

My favorite kind of cuisine is either Mexican or Thai. You have to try Thai! I wish you could just come over, and I’d make some for you. Some friends of our’s taught me how to make it, and now I make some sort of Thai dish at least once a week in our house. It’s delish!

Definitely…there really isn’t anything better than fro yo! πŸ˜‰

I have heard so many wonderful things about Thai!! Now you’re really making me craving it and I’m going to make it happen…how about I take you up on your offer and I just come on over πŸ˜‰

Cute picture of you and Shanna ❀

I love sharing lots of different appetizers and a couple entrees… my Sister and I do that all the time! That roti looks awesome πŸ™‚

I wish there was a frozen yogurt shop in walking distance to my apartment! I really love the tart/tangyness of it… Andrew is not really a fan…

Favorite cuisine? Tough question haha Probably Greek or Turkish… I have never had Ethiopian but REALLY want to try it… mostly because you get to eat with your hands πŸ™‚

      Thanks Sarah! πŸ™‚

Sharing is always the best…that’s why I love tapas style restaurants too. I wish for you that you had a fro yo spot near by, I would die without it!! πŸ˜‰

I’ve never tried Turkish nor Ethiopian…but I’ve seen the way it’s eaten with the injera and it looks pretty awesome and would love to try it too someday.

I have never met a blogger, but WANT to!! Maybe now that I live in the real world (AKA not Alaska) I will get the chance to someday.
My favorite cuisine is Mediteranean in general…but Italian and Greek are my loves. I cant help it! And I have never really had Indian food, I know it involves a lot of curry which I am not a fan of

Oooo I love Mediterranean too!! I could live off of pitas and hummus forever πŸ˜‰

Our dishes last night didn’t have a lot of curry flavor, so if you can find a more contemporary Indian restaurant I highly recommend it πŸ™‚

Hi, Shayla! I just found your blog. πŸ™‚ That dinner – and the froyo – look AMAZING! Especially the spinach dumplings. I’d say Italian is my favorite cuisine, but Mediterranean and Thai are close behind.
